Delete your YardHound account
In the app
Open YardHound, go to Account → Settings → Delete account, and confirm.
Without the app
Email support@yard-hound.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm it's you before deleting anything.
When it can't happen right away
We can't delete an account while money or a decision is still in progress, because the other person is depending on it. If any of these are true, we'll tell you which, keep your request open, and delete the account the moment the last one clears:
- A job is awarded or in progress
- A dispute is open
- A stopped-early job or turn-away hasn't been decided
- A payout hasn't been sent yet
- You're a guardian, and a teen linked to you has active jobs
What's deleted
Your phone number, email, name, photo, intro, work zones, base addresses, properties and property photos.
What's kept, and why
- Job and payment records stay, with your name replaced by "Deleted user". Tax law requires us to keep payment records, and the other person's ratings and history depend on them.
- Ratings you gave stay, shown as from "Deleted user".
- Background check outcomes are kept as a record that the check was done: the result and the date only, never your name or birth date. If an account was permanently banned, a scrambled copy of its phone number is kept so it can't sign up again.
- Job photos and messages are kept for one year after the job closes and then deleted, unless they're part of a dispute or a safety report.
- Stripe keeps its own records of payments, identity checks and payouts under its own privacy policy.
If you're a guardian, deleting your account ends every guardian link. Each teen will need a new guardian before they can accept jobs again.
See the privacy policy for everything we collect and how long we keep it.
